Well, so much for getting y'all that extra story this weekend! The weekend just got overcrowded with stuff plus my little man got sick which put everything else on hold. He had pretty much run a low-grade fever with congestion since last Monday, with the fever taking a voluntary break by Thursday so he could head back to school for his Easter party. Seriously, I think L worked a deal out with his body because he was up, dressed, excited to go to school (which is not always the case!), and begging to get in the car -all fever free- with his temperature returning Friday night. It returned again on Saturday afternoon along with a painful ear. I sent my husband to take him to the doctor on Sunday while my daughter and I took care of obligations at church. All that congestion had migrated into an ear infection which we are mending at this moment.
Anyway, I promised to finish up my water theme from last week, so here goes!
But first a riddle!
QUESTION:
What do a gal with a post-childbirth (x2) bladder who has slumber party with her best girlfriends AND an almost-4 year old boy who is night-time potty training have in common?
ANSWER:
The need to make sure you have plenty of underwear on hand in case of emergencies!
Last Friday night, I spent a wonderful evening with my girlfriends! We try to manage a social gathering once a month and secured a whole evening (and wee hours of the next morning!) this last time. Our evening included lots of yummy snacks, plenty of the most delicious slushy-type drinks, fantastic conversation, a few highly competitive games of Taboo and Mad Gab (which seem to take on a whole new level of humor if played after you partake of slushy-type drinks!), and LOTS of laughing!
These girls deserve a whole story dedicated just to them! They are incredible friends and I will share more with you another day!
This is the only picture I was able to take and share that comes close to indicating what a fun time we had together!
Over the last couple of weeks, my son has expressed a desire to sleep in his underwear at night. I slightly discouraged it before now because I dreaded dealing with wet sheets every morning. I still dread the extra laundry but knew I needed to let him try. He has been about 50% successful and I have always tried to be positive towards him each morning whether he woke up dry or wet. I did offer a few incentives should he have success 3 nights in a row. Therefore, the other night he picked out a brand new package of "glow-in-the-dark" Cars underwear.
Can you guess what is going on in this picture?!
You are right! We had to charge up the "glow" in Lightening McQueen!
So there you have it! The conclusion to my first theme week of Water!
I hope you enjoyed it and that it met your expectations!
